I've been reading about how excited all the artists are who are in Once Upon, about the opening tonight, some are even posting about what they plan to wear.
After the incredible success and attention received by the first Art Market that No Vacancy Gallery hosted they are at it again, and just in time for Christmas. This time round there will be an enormous tent full of art and design goodness in QV Square were items such as artworks, prints, cards, badges, jewelry and clothing will be available for you to buy for someone special or even just for yourself.

This coming Thursday is the long anticipated opening of Once Upon by Leeloo at aMBUSH Gallery. Sadly I weren't be in Sydney for the opening however if you do go along do say hello to my illustrations.
Just a quick reminder for those in Melbourne; One Night Stand art auction is this Wednesday at Dazzleland Studios (Sketch City) in Northcote. It will feature works by artists such as Rachee Renaee, Ben Howe, Sirendoll, Mishap, Megan Dell, Guz, Gadzee and plenty of others. I also have a few pieces going up for auction too.
One of the many things that I've been busy working on of late is 9 new works for the up and coming Petits Travaux at Retrospect Galleries (opens 27 November) in Byron. All the works are now finished and can be previewed online at Retrospect Galleries website.
Volcom v.co-logical series presents 'Recycle Your Old Boardshorts For a Good Cause' which is where they are sending their surf team off to take all boardshorts that are donated throughout Australia and New Zealand to the people in disaster effected zones of Samoa and Sumatra.
With the weather getting a bit warmer here in Melbourne I thought it suitable to share My Ultimate Iced Mocha Coffee recipe for to also enjoy!
I was working on some illustrations for some fabric yardage (which has now been put aside)based on Alice in Wonderland. I was cross referencing the notes I took from original Lewis Carroll story with the film to help highlight key parts of the novel.
I get told often that my watercolours and characters of 'is it Jack or is it Jill?' remind them of a cross between Tim Burton and Dr. Seuss. Honestly I can say that this is not on purpose but is quite possibly an accident as I love both their styles and even though Tim Burton only produced 'James and the Giant Peach' it is one of the closest films I've come across should of Tim Burton and Dr. Seuss made a film together. Which isn't why I watched it, but more why I like the style of it.
This is the film I was talking about that made me think about my creative process from another perspective. Listening to Jack White, Jimmy Page and The Edge talk about their creative process to their guitar playing and how they create what they do, over come lows and enjoy the highs, made me contemplate my own creative process and approach.
I highly enjoy the orginal contex of fairytales with their happy endings and gore, this is a spanish fairytale and they have not sugar coated it at all. There is something about the creatures, storyline, time in history, general feel and the darkness that makes me want to grab for a pencil and paper every time I watch it.
Recently I've been getting into using stamps for some of my own projects. Since I spotted this Pennant Rubber Stamp Roller project on Just Something I Made, I've been dying to find the time to buy the products and make one myself, though sadly I haven't yet.

I just adore well put together trend reports and for intimates and swimwear for 2011 Interfiliere presents a beautiful trend report that works for a range of applications and categories. They have not only given information but presented in such a way that one can imagine how it all comes together in the real world to create an overall feel and look.
Every so often I come across a poster that makes me all giddy with delight, this just so happens to be one of them. I love the colours, the context, the style and the overall feel of it. Men in wife beaters eating hot dogs, whilst wearing animal suits and standing on skateboards, and then you notice that it's a poster/ad for Volcom Stone's Wild In The Parks Tour 2009/10.
